Role: Workforce Management Data Analyst
Location: London (Hybrid – 2 days per week in the office)
Contract: 6 months
Rate: £550 per day (Outside IR35)
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Workforce Management (WFM) Data Analyst to support data-driven workforce planning, forecasting, and optimisation. This role will work closely with Operations, Finance, and HR teams to provide actionable insights that improve staffing efficiency, service levels, and cost control.
This is a hands-on analytics role suited to someone comfortable working with large datasets, building models, and communicating insights to senior stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Workforce Planning & Forecasting
- Analyse historical workload and staffing data to create accurate demand forecasts.
- Build and maintain workforce capacity models to optimise scheduling and resourcing.
- Support long- and short-term workforce planning across multiple business units.
Data Analysis & Insights
- Extract, clean, and transform data from WFM, HR, and operational systems.
- Produce dashboards and reporting to monitor performance, productivity, and service levels.
- Identify trends, risks, and opportunities to improve workforce utilisation.
Scheduling & Performance Optimisation
- Evaluate schedule adherence, shrinkage, and occupancy metrics.
- Recommend improvements to shift patterns, rostering, and resource allocation.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives using data-led insights.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Partner with Operations, Finance, and HR to understand workforce challenges.
- Translate complex data into clear recommendations for non-technical stakeholders.
- Present findings to senior leadership and support decision making.
Required Skills & Experience
- Advanced SQL on cloud data warehouses (essential) — strong Redshift experience (or equivalent), comfortable writing performant, well-structured queries and building reusable modelled views on top of already-staged data
- Building robust datasets from disparate sources (essential) — proven ability to reconcile and combine data across multiple operational systems into a single coherent, trustworthy model, resolving conflicting definitions and grain mismatches along the way
- WFM metrics and concepts (highly desirable) — working knowledge of workforce management fundamentals: demand/volume, AHT, shrinkage, occupancy, schedule adherence and efficiency, productivity, and supply/capacity
Working Arrangement
- Hybrid working: 2 days per week in the London office
- Outside IR35 contract
- Initial 6-month engagement with potential extension
