Power BI Developer / Data Modelling Specialist

Start: 28 April | 3–6 Month Contract

We’re working with an operationally complex, multi-site business seeking an experienced Power BI Developer / Data Modelling Specialist to support a high-impact data transformation project.

This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in shaping how data is used across the organisation, delivering insights that drive performance, efficiency, and decision-making.

The Role

You’ll be responsible for designing and delivering high-quality Power BI reporting solutions, working closely with stakeholders across operations, finance, sales, and marketing.

This role combines hands-on dashboard development, data modelling, and stakeholder engagement, with a strong focus on delivering actionable insights.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and build visually engaging Power BI dashboards
• Develop and optimise data models and semantic layers
• Work with Microsoft Fabric to support modern data architecture
• Integrate data from multiple systems (e.g. ERP, CRM, operational platforms)
• Create advanced DAX measures to track key KPIs
• Write and optimise SQL queries for data preparation
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements
• Translate complex data into clear, actionable insights
• Promote best practices in data visualisation and reporting

Required Experience

• Strong experience with Power BI (end-to-end development)
• Advanced DAX and data modelling skills
• Solid SQL capability
• Experience with Microsoft Fabric (or similar platforms)
• Proven ability to work with stakeholders and deliver business-focused insights
• Strong understanding of data modelling best practices (e.g. star schema)

Nice to Have

• Experience working in multi-site or operationally complex environments
• Exposure to systems such as ERP, CRM, booking or operational platforms
• Experience with ETL pipelines / Azure data services
• Familiarity with Git and collaborative development
