A Senior Project Manager/Programme Manager is needed to oversee a major system, technology, and business process standardisation and upgrade for a Private Equity-owned chain of fitness centres, health clubs and gyms.

Our client is a UK-owned chain of gyms, fitness centres, and health clubs. It is one of the top-10 chains by membership, with over 500,000 members registered to the business.

The business operates primarily in the UK, but with additional locations throughout Europe and worldwide.

Additionally, the business has invested in and operates a number of fitness related businesses and concepts, including using new technology to improve the fitness and well being of consumers.

As a result of this impressive growth, an opportunity has arisen for a Senior Project Manager/Programme Manager to deliver series of interconnected projects to upgrade and introduce new systems, introduce related business processes, and deliver the business's 'digital enablement' agenda.

The Senior Project Manager/Programme Manager will also have a remit to bring systems and IT support back 'in house' with the aim of both realising business benefit and improving service delivery for the growing business.

The Senior Project Manager/Programme Manager role is critical to the future growth and success of the business and will require extensive stakeholder and Senior Executive-level engagement across the business, working closely with the entrepreneurial founder and CEO.

The incoming Senior Project Manager/Programme Manager will also be required to occasionally travel across the 60 or so locations, including some travel to locations in Europe from time to time, however the role remains primarily hybrid.

The new Senior Project Manager/Programme Manager should ideally be certified in SAFe, Agile, PRINCE2, or MSP and be able to apply recognised project management governance across multiple concurrent projects.

Implementation experience with systems such as helpdesk (ServiceNow would be ideal), booking and membership systems, finance systems, and HR systems (Workday or SuccessFactors would be again ideal), as well as associated business processes, user engagement, and experience of designing and organising user and staff training to ensure an optimal uptake.

The Project Manager/Programme Manager will have prior experience recruiting and assembling project and program teams, including the recruitment of business analysts and the establishment of a project management office (PMO).
