You will step into a lead-level position where your judgement matters. Rather than spending your days buried in hands-on programming, you will define how the control architecture should work, guide external partners, and make sure Balance of Plant SCADA, BESS systems and existing plant controls come together in a way that is technically sound and operationally effective.

What you’ll do

This 12-month contract is focused on SCADA and controls integration leadership across a live project environment. You will lead the development of the control philosophy and operating philosophy, support the functional definition of the SCADA system, and coordinate the technical interfaces between the consultancy leading the Balance of Plant SCADA, the BESS SCADA supplier, and existing plant systems.

You will chair regular coordination calls, review supplier outputs, challenge where needed, and keep technical responsibilities, communications and integration points moving in the right direction. Your role will be to see the bigger picture while still understanding the detail well enough to make informed decisions and drive progress across multiple stakeholders.

About you

You will bring proven SCADA and controls integration experience from utility-scale BESS, Solar PV, or closely related renewable energy projects. You will be comfortable working across suppliers, plant systems and operational stakeholders, and confident in defining or reviewing control philosophies, operating philosophies and SCADA functional requirements.

Contract overview

This is a lead integration, interface management and technical coordination role rather than a hands-on PLC or SCADA build position. The successful engineer will bring the credibility to work across multiple suppliers, challenge technical approaches, and ensure the SCADA and controls strategy is properly aligned across the wider plant environment.
