Dynamics NAV/D365 Business Central Techno-Functional Consultant - Fully Remote - Outside IR35 at Strike IT Services, Fully Remote, 6 Months, £Contract Rate

We are supporting a client in the metals refining/commodities sector, undertaking a Microsoft Dynamics NAV to Dynamics 365 Business Central upgrade.

We are looking for an experienced Techno-Functional Consultant to play a key role across the programme, combining strong Business Central functional expertise (particularly Supply Chain) with the ability to support technical delivery and system design.

Experience within commodities, metals, refining, manufacturing, or supply chain-heavy industries would be highly advantageous.

FULLY REMOTE

Responsibilities:

• Lead functional workshops and gather requirements across supply chain and operations.
• Translate business requirements into Business Central solutions, aligned with upgrade best practices.
• Act as the bridge between business stakeholders and development teams.
• Provide hands-on expertise across Supply Chain modules:
  • Inventory & stock control
  • Purchasing & supplier management
  • Sales & order fulfilment
  • Warehousing/logistics
• Support and contribute to technical delivery, including:
  • Reviewing and contributing to AL customisations
  • Supporting C/AL to AL conversion
  • Assisting with extension design and minor development work
• Support data migration, including mapping, validation, and reconciliation.
• Lead/support UAT, training, and go-live activities.
• Ensure solutions are scalable and aligned with Business Central SaaS best practices.

Expereince:

• Strong experience with:
  • Microsoft Dynamics NAV (2009-2018)
  • Dynamics 365 Business Central
• Proven experience on NAV - BC upgrade programmes
• Strong functional expertise across Supply Chain, including:
  • Inventory Management
  • Purchasing
  • Sales Order Processing
  • Warehousing/WMS
  • Item tracking/planning
• Hands-on development experience in:
  • AL and/or C/AL
  • Ability to understand, review, and contribute to customisations and extensions
• Experience working across both functional and technical domains
• Experience with data migration, UAT, and business process design
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills

Highly Desirable

• Experience within:
  • Commodities trading or processing
  • Metals refining/mining/manufacturing
  • Process or batch-based environments
• Experience with WMS, 3PL, or logistics integrations
• Exposure to ISV solutions (eg Tasklet, Continia)
