Network Security Engineer - 12 Months - Outside IR35

We are looking for a Network Security Engineer with a strong focus on Fortinet technologies to support a series of security and network transformation projects. This is a hands-on, project-driven role requiring deep Fortinet expertise alongside solid enterprise networking fundamentals.

You will play a key role in designing, implementing, and optimising Fortinet-based security solutions across a complex environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and deliver network security projects with a primary focus on Fortinet solutions
• Design, deploy, and optimise Fortinet security infrastructure (firewalls, VPNs, segmentation)
• Implement and manage Fortinet technologies such as FortiGate, FortiManager, and FortiAnalyzer
• Perform Firewall migrations, rulebase reviews, and security hardening
• Troubleshoot complex network and security issues across hybrid environments
• Work closely with stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery
• Produce high-quality technical documentation

Required Skills & Experience:

• Strong hands-on experience with Fortinet technologies in enterprise environments
• Proven track record delivering network/security projects (not purely BAU support)
• Deep understanding of Firewall policies, NAT, VPNs (IPSec/SSL), and network segmentation
• Solid routing & switching knowledge (Cisco or equivalent)
• Experience with FortiManager and FortiAnalyzer for centralised management and logging
• Ability to independently deliver technical solutions end-to-end

Certifications (Desirable):

• NSE 5-7 OR FCP/FCA
• CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional) or equivalent

Desirable Skills:

• Experience with SD-WAN (particularly Fortinet SD-WAN)
• Cloud networking experience (AWS/Azure)
• Exposure to Zero Trust or modern security architectures
• Automation/scripting (Python, Ansible, Terraform)

Contract Details:

• Duration: 12 Months
• Location: London (3 days onsite)/Remote
• Day Rate: £300 Per Day - £400 Per Day
• Start Date: ASAP
