Key Responsibilities
- Design and maintain enterprise-level data architecture aligned with strategic objectives
- Develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models across multiple programmes
- Define data standards, governance frameworks, and best practices
- Collaborate with business analysts, engineers, and stakeholders to translate requirements into data solutions
- Lead data integration strategies across Legacy and modern platforms
- Ensure compliance with security, privacy, and regulatory requirements (eg, GDPR)
- Support cloud-based data architecture (primarily AWS/Azure environments)
- Provide guidance on data warehousing, data lakes, and Real Time data processing solutions
- Review and optimize data pipelines, ETL processes, and data flows
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to architectural governance boards
Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as a Data Architect in large-scale, complex environments (preferably public sector or enterprise)
- Strong expertise in data modelling (eg, ERD, dimensional modelling)
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Deep understanding of data governance, metadata management, and data quality frameworks
- Hands-on experience with SQL, data integration tools, and ETL/ELT processes
- Knowledge of big data technologies (eg, Hadoop, Spark, Kafka)
- Familiarity with API-based data services and microservices architecture
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Experience working in Agile delivery environments
