Microsoft Security Consultant / Sentinel Engineer – Contract – Outside IR35

We are currently looking for a Microsoft Security Consultant / Sentinel Engineer to support a growing cyber security practice working across multiple customer environments.

This role is more consultancy-focused rather than traditional SOC monitoring, and would suit someone strong across Microsoft Sentinel, Defender and Microsoft XDR.

The role will involve:

• Writing high-fidelity threat detection use cases

• Creating and tuning Sentinel KQL queries and analytics rules

• Reviewing security incidents and reducing false positives / alert noise

• Working with Defender for Endpoint and Microsoft XDR

• Supporting managed Defender deployments across customer environments

• Customer-facing consultancy style work

Contract details:

• Initial 3-month contract (likely extension)

• Up to £500/day – Outside IR35

• Mostly remote

• Occasional travel to customer sites

• Birmingham area preferred
