Product Manager - CRM Project - Public Sector - £400 - £500 per day OUTSIDE IR35
We are seeking an experienced Product Manager as a temporary/contractor to play a pivotal role in delivering our public sector clients high profile project. This is a critical initiative underpinning digital transformation into a modern, trusted, and data-driven organisation.
This programme will establish a single, enterprise-wide SaaS CRM platform, replacing fragmented, regime-specific systems with a unified view of customer interactions across more than 34 million citizens and 5 million businesses. The Product Manager will lead the definition, delivery, and continuous improvement of product capabilities that enable consistent, personalised, and efficient customer engagement at scale.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and own the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for capabilities aligned to 2030 Vision and Transformation Roadmap
- Translate complex policy, operational, and user needs into clear product requirements, epics, and user stories
- Lead prioritisation of features to deliver maximum value across customer experience, compliance, and operational efficiency
- Work closely with delivery teams, including engineering, architecture, data, and design, to deliver a scalable SaaS CRM platform
- Collaborate with stakeholders to align product direction with enterprise goals and dependent programmes
- Drive the transition from Legacy CRM systems to a unified enterprise platform, supporting long-term decommissioning
- Champion user-centric design, ensuring solutions meet the needs of both customers and colleagues
- Enable data-driven decision making by embedding analytics, behavioural insights, and performance measurement into the product
- Manage risks, dependencies, and trade-offs across a complex, multi-programme environment
- Support governance and assurance processes in line with public sector standards
Required Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as a Product Manager delivering complex, enterprise-scale digital platforms
- Strong understanding of CRM systems, SaaS platforms, and customer data management
- Experience working in large, complex organisations (public sector experience highly desirable)
- Ability to operate strategically while maintaining focus on delivery and outcomes
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at senior levels
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience using data to inform decisions
- Experience working in Agile and multidisciplinary delivery teams
- Ability to manage ambiguity and drive clarity in a complex transformation environment
Preferred Experience
- Experience delivering CRM transformation or enterprise platform consolidation programmes
- Familiarity with data integration, identity resolution, and customer 360 solutions
- Understanding of compliance, regulatory, or government service environments
- Experience supporting Legacy system decommissioning and migration strategies
- Knowledge of behavioural insights and their application in customer engagement
