We're working with a leading high-assurance consultancy delivering mission-critical infrastructure for the public sector on this exciting opportunity.

We are hunting for a heavyweight Oracle 11g DBA to take the reins of a high-availability production estate. This is a high-impact, Outside IR35 contract where you will ensure the operational stability and performance of business-critical systems in a fast-paced, 24/7 environment using RMAN, Data Guard, and Linux-based platforms.

The Role

• Provide 24x7 production support for mission-critical Oracle 11g database environments.
• Lead the diagnosis and resolution of complex performance issues and major incidents.
• Manage robust backup and recovery strategies using RMAN and ensure disaster recovery readiness via Data Guard.
• Implement critical database changes and security patches through rigorous ITIL-aligned change management processes.
• Optimize long-term stability through proactive performance tuning, SQL optimization, and runbook maintenance.
  
  

What You'll Need

• Deep hands-on expertise with Oracle 11g (and exposure to later versions) in high-pressure production environments.
• Extensive experience with RMAN for backup/recovery and Oracle Data Guard for high availability.
• Advanced SQL and PL/SQL diagnostic skills with a proven track record of performance tuning.
• Proficiency supporting Oracle on Linux/Unix platforms including Shell or Python scripting capabilities.
• Current Active SC Clearance is mandatory for this role.
