Role: Contract Technical Consultant / Infrastructure & Containers Engineer

Location: Southwest London (Hybrid; 3 days per week onsite)

Duration: Initial 12 Months

Rate: £400 - £425 per day (Outside IR35)

Security Clearance: Active SC Clearance Required

We are seeking a Technical Consultant to act as the primary interface between a specialist IT consultancy and a global leader in the Defence & Aerospace sector. You will oversee technical delivery, manage senior stakeholders, and ensure the roadmap aligns with complex, mission-critical requirements.

Key Deliverables

• Architectural Oversight: Act as the Subject Matter Expert for Containerisation (Docker) and Infrastructure, defining the strategy and ensuring engineering teams deliver to standard.
• Business Acumen: Navigate a high-pressure environment, translating technical challenges into business solutions and operational outcomes.
• Technical Governance: Oversee the management of VMware estates and Windows infrastructure (AD/GPO), providing high-level troubleshooting and direction.
• Stakeholder Management: Act as a trusted advisor to senior client leadership, providing technical assurance and progress reporting.
• Strategic Liaison: Identify project risks and technical blockers before they impact delivery, ensuring the consultancy-client relationship remains seamless.

The Profile

• You can talk deep-tech with engineers and high-level strategy with Board-level stakeholders.
• You understand the logic and implementation of Docker and VMware at a senior level.
• Extensive experience with Windows Domain Services (AD/GPO) from a design or lead perspective.
• Strong business acumen, you understand project lifecycles, risk management, and client delivery.
