Job Title: Cabling / Network Engineer

Rate: Up to £250 per day (Outside IR35)

Overview
Looking for a hands-on Cabling / Network Engineer to support a field-based project focused on the installation of wireless access points. This role is heavily centred around cabling and on-site engineering, with some exposure to networking equipment, including Juniper and potentially WatchGuard.
Key Responsibilities
- Installation and mounting of wireless access points across multiple sites
- Running, terminating, and testing structured cabling (Cat5e/Cat6)
- Conducting site surveys and planning cable routes for AP installations
- Rack and stack of network equipment where required
- Supporting connectivity to switches, routers, and firewalls
- Assisting with basic configuration or connectivity of Juniper / WatchGuard devices
- Troubleshooting cabling and connectivity issues on-site
- Ensuring all installations meet quality and safety standards
Key Requirements
- Recent and proven experience installing wireless access points
- Strong hands-on structured cabling experience
- Experience working in field-based / site environments
- Basic networking knowledge (switches, routers, connectivity)
- Exposure to Juniper networking equipment
- WatchGuard experience desirable
- Ability to work independently and travel between sites
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Desirable
- Experience with large-scale wireless rollouts
- Relevant cabling or networking certifications
This role is ideal for a field engineer with strong cabling experience who has recently worked on wireless deployments and is available to start immediately.
