Contract Backend Engineer - Up to £450 p/d - 6 months - Outside IR35 - Fully Remote

Morson Edge are seeking a skilled Senior Backend Engineer to join a dynamic team responsible for designing, developing, and implementing innovative software solutions for a cloud-based online payment management system. The role involves building and maintaining backend services, automating infrastructure using Infrastructure-as-Code, and developing CI/CD pipelines with secure connectivity. You will also be responsible for implementing observability and telemetry to ensure system reliability and performance.

This position requires a strong DevOps mindset and hands-on experience with cloud-native technologies, particularly within Amazon Web Services (AWS). You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, secure, and efficient solutions that support the business’s payment platform.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services for a cloud-based payment system
• Automate infrastructure deployment using Infrastructure-as-Code principles
• Build and manage CI/CD pipelines ensuring secure connectivity and deployment
• Implement observability and telemetry to monitor system health and performance
• Collaborate with DevOps and infrastructure teams to optimise cloud platform usage
• Support and influence development teams to adopt cloud-native best practices
