Job Description

We are looking for an Enterprise Cloud Platform Architect with strong experience across major cloud data platforms (e.g., Databricks, Snowflake, BigQuery). This role will support the Discovery, Design & Implementation phase(s) by assessing current platforms and designing integration and migration patterns for a future connected data platform, with a focus on the Retail/CPG domain and successfully mapping & delivering the leadership vision with expected outcomes.

Key responsibilities

· Perform detailed As‑Is assessments of existing data platforms (environments, data flows, patterns, governance, performance, and cost hotspots).

· Design interim integration patterns to enable safe and efficient cross‑platform data sharing and analytics.

· Define target‑state technical patterns for how multiple platforms co‑exist or converge (data engineering, storage, ML/AI, BI, security, and governance).

· Contribute to the target architecture blueprint with concrete reference architectures, pattern catalogues, and technical guardrails.

· Propose migration approaches by domain/use case, including refactoring vs lift‑and‑shift, sequencing, and non‑functional requirements.

· Collaborate with client engineering and platform teams to validate feasibility, identify risks, and refine options.

Required skills and experience

· 8+ years in data engineering / data platform roles, with at least 3–5 years in architecture‑focused positions.

· Strong hands‑on experience with at least two major cloud data platforms (e.g., Databricks, Snowflake, BigQuery) in production environments.

· Solid understanding of cross‑cloud integration patterns (networking, identity, data movement, catalog/governance integration).

· Experience designing or supporting large‑scale data platform modernisation, consolidation, or migration programmes.

· Ability to create clear technical documentation and communicate architecture options to both engineers and non‑technical stakeholders.

· Retail/CPG industry experience, with exposure to typical data domains (e.g., POS, consumer, trade promotion, supply chain, finance) and related analytics/AI use cases.
