Outside IR35 Contract | Planner | Water Sector

Contract: Long‑term, Outside IR35

Location: Maidstone, Kent (Flexible Hybrid)

Our client in the water sector is seeking an experienced Planner to support programme and project delivery across a portfolio of infrastructure and operational schemes. This long‑term contract offers the opportunity to play a key role in schedule development, progress monitoring, and performance reporting within a fast‑paced, essential services environment. Hybrid working is available, with regular presence required at the Maidstone office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and update project and programme schedules using industry‑standard planning tools
  • Produce regular progress reports, dashboards, and schedule performance insights
  • Work closely with operational, commercial, and delivery teams to track progress and capture changes
  • Identify schedule risks, delays, and opportunities; support mitigation planning
  • Assist with resource and cost‑loaded programmes where required
  • Monitor productivity, planned vs. actual progress, and key project milestones
  • Ensure robust planning governance and accurate schedule documentation
  • Support the integration of planning data across multiple projects and workstreams
  • Contribute to efficient and sustainable delivery planning practices

Skills & Experience Required

  • Proven planning experience within the utilities or infrastructure sector
  • Strong proficiency in Primavera P6
  • Excellent Excel skills with confident data handling and analysis capabilities
  • Effective communication skills and a collaborative working style
  • Experience supporting multidisciplinary teams and complex project environments
  • Ability to work independently while engaging proactively with key stakeholders
