IT Systems Engineer (Contract)
Leicestershire - 3-4 days onsite
£300 per day - Outside IR35
Initial 3-month contract
An established UK technology platform used by hundreds of thousands of members across the public sector and emergency services community is looking for an IT Systems Engineer to support and optimise its internal technology environment.
This is a hands-on role focused on Microsoft 365, endpoint management, infrastructure, and automation, working closely with the internal technology team to maintain a secure, scalable and efficient IT estate.
The Role

- Administer and support Microsoft 365, Entra ID (Azure AD), and core cloud services
- Manage endpoint devices and user environments via Intune and device management tools
- Support and maintain core infrastructure and networking components (DNS, DHCP, VPN, VLANs)
- Automate operational tasks using PowerShell
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across systems and SaaS platforms
- Support security best practices and system hardening
- Work with the wider tech team to deliver system improvements and infrastructure projects

- Strong Microsoft 365 administration
- Experience with Entra ID/Azure AD
- Endpoint management (Intune or similar)
- PowerShell Scripting or automation
- Windows server/infrastructure administration
- Networking fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, VPN, VLANs)
- Experience supporting SaaS platforms and internal systems
- Experience working in cloud-first environments
- Security and identity management knowledge
- Experience with automation and infrastructure improvement projects
