Legal Tech Business Analyst/Project Manager - Legal Tech - Contract - Outside IR35 - Remote with Ocassional Travel

Overview

We are seeking an experienced LegalTech Business Analyst with Project Management capability to support the implementation of a new legal case management system. This is a greenfield project, involving the full life cycle from discovery and requirements gathering through to implementation, data migration, training and handover.

You will work closely with stakeholders to analyse business processes, define system requirements, manage project delivery and ensure a smooth migration from the Legacy case management platform to the new system.

Key Responsibilities

Business Analysis

  • Lead discovery to understand processes, user needs and system requirements.
  • Facilitate stakeholder workshops and document requirements and user stories.
  • Analyse legal case management workflows and identify improvements.
  • Translate requirements into technical tasks with IT teams and vendors.

Project Management

  • Support the end-to-end system implementation life cycle.
  • Maintain project plans, timelines and milestones.
  • Coordinate stakeholders and manage risks, dependencies and progress.
  • Facilitate meetings and report to stakeholders.

Data Migration

  • Analyse Legacy data structures and define migration strategy.
  • Oversee data mapping, cleansing, testing and validation.

Implementation & Adoption

  • Support system configuration, testing and UAT.
  • Deliver training, documentation and post-implementation support.

Key Skills & Experience

Essential

  • Proven experience as a Business Analyst on system implementation projects.
  • Experience implementing legal case management systems.
  • Background working with law firms or legal services organisations.
  • Experience with practice management, document management, or legal workflow systems.
  • Familiarity with data migration tools and techniques.
  • Strong project management capability, ideally managing end-to-end delivery.
  • Experience with data migration projects.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and workshop facilitation skills.
  • Strong documentation skills including process maps, requirements, and specifications.
  • Experience working in Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery environments.
  • Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment.
