Contract Data Engineer – Up to £600 per day | Outside IR35 | Fully Remote

OB is currently supporting a global retail organisation that has launched a large-scale KPI Engineering initiative.

The programme is centred around creating a single, governed KPI framework to replace the organisation’s current mix of disconnected dashboards and reports. The goal is to establish a reliable, centralised source for business metrics across the company.

To support the initial phase of the project, two contract Data Engineers will join the team, focusing on data pipeline development and KPI modelling within the organisation’s data platform.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable data pipelines that power business KPI reporting
• Develop and maintain KPI data models within the central data platform
• Improve performance of existing data warehouse queries and data pipelines
• Collaborate with analysts and stakeholders to translate business definitions into production-ready KPIs

Skills & Experience Required

• Strong background in Data Engineering
• Advanced SQL and solid experience with data modelling
• Hands-on experience with modern data stack technologies (e.g. dbt, GCP, BigQuery and Looker)
