The Network Architect is responsible for leading the design, architecture, and implementation of network solutions as part of customer-facing professional services engagements. The role works closely with delivery teams and engineers to ensure successful deployment of network infrastructure and serves as a technical escalation point during project delivery.
The architect will engage with customers to gather requirements, run technical workshops, and translate business needs into scalable and secure network designs. This includes defining network topology, routing and switching, WAN connectivity, and security controls such as Firewalls. The role also supports the deployment and validation of network solutions, ensuring they meet performance, scalability, and security requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and document network architectures, including high-level and low-level designs.
- Lead the planning and implementation of network connectivity across multiple sites and environments.
- Ensure integration of networking and security controls including Firewalls and secure connectivity.
- Support project delivery teams throughout the implementation life cycle.
- Develop implementation, testing, and change procedures for network deployments.
- Provide technical leadership, troubleshooting support, and escalation assistance during delivery.
- Ensure best practices, standards, and templates are followed in network design and implementation.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify risks, resolve issues, and deliver successful outcomes.
- Provide knowledge transfer and documentation to operational teams.
- Participate in customer discussions, technical workshops, and solution presentations.
Qualifications & Experience
- Significant experience in network architecture, design, and implementation within enterprise or service provider environments.
- Strong knowledge of routing, switching, WAN technologies, and network security.
- Experience designing scalable, secure, and high-availability network solutions across multiple sites.
- Familiarity with common networking protocols and services (eg, TCP/IP, VPNs, DNS, DHCP, QoS).
- Experience producing architecture documentation, implementation plans, and technical designs.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and customer-facing skills.
- Ability to work in complex project environments and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Nice to have - High Performance Compute and AI environments, specifically NVIDIA DGX platforms - This includes knowledge of InfiniBand if possible, but not essential.
