Senior Java Developer - Remote - Contract - Up to £500 Per Day (Outside IR35)

Fuel Recruitment is supporting a leading organisation delivering a high-profile, data-centric Azure programme. They are looking for an experienced Senior Java Developer to contribute to a major transformation initiative built on Microsoft Fabric and modern cloud engineering practices.
This role involves working directly with customer teams, solving complex engineering challenges, and helping to deliver robust, production-ready solutions in a fast-moving Agile environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Work closely with customer teams to deliver high-quality engineering outcomes.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to iterative delivery cycles.
• Support requirement gathering and produce clear technical documentation.
• Develop Java (Java 11+) code with comprehensive unit testing.
• Integrate solutions using JDBC and the Java Azure Storage SDK.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex engineering challenges.
• Manage timelines effectively and maintain strong stakeholder communication.
• Promote engineering discipline and best practices across the team.

Key Skills/Experience

Essential

• Strong, demonstrable Java 11+ development experience.
• Proficiency with JDBC and Spring Boot.
• Solid understanding of object-oriented design patterns.
• Experience using Git for version control.
• Working knowledge of Azure cloud environments.
• Comfortable working directly with customers in a hands-on capacity.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Proven experience working within Agile delivery teams.

Nice to Have

• Experience with the Java Azure Storage SDK.
• Exposure to building integrations with Microsoft Fabric data sources.
• Knowledge of JPA and Maven.
• Experience with JUnit for unit testing.
• Working understanding of Microsoft Fabric.
