Senior Cloud Network Engineer - Multi-Cloud, AWS, Azure, Terraform - £600 - £650 per day (outside IR35, mostly remote)

A global commercial real estate services and investment firm are seeking a highly skilled Senior Cloud Network Engineer to lead the design and optimization of secure, scalable cloud networking solutions across their international operations.

The Senior Cloud Network Engineer's responsibilities will be:

• Design and implement advanced cloud network architectures across AWS, Azure, and hybrid environments including VPCs, Transit Gateways, and Direct Connect solutions.
• Lead integration of on-premises and cloud networks, ensuring secure and efficient hybrid connectivity across global infrastructure.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity, DevOps, and infrastructure teams to align cloud network strategies with business objectives.
• Conduct cloud network architecture reviews, performance tuning, and cost optimization initiatives.
• Develop and maintain network automation scripts and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) templates using Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
• Create comprehensive network documentation including topology diagrams, configuration standards, and operational procedures.
• Provide tier-3 support and root cause analysis for complex cloud and hybrid network issues.
• Mentor junior engineers and lead cloud networking projects from design through implementation.

The Senior Cloud Network Engineer will be expected to have experience with:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field with 8+ years network engineering experience, including 3+ years in cloud network architecture leadership.
• Deep expertise in AWS and Azure networking with strong proficiency in Infrastructure-as-Code tools.
• Scripting skills in Python for automation and hands-on experience with container networking (EKS/AKS, CNI plugins).
• In-depth understanding of cloud security principles, routing, firewalls, DNS, load balancing, and network segmentation.
• Experience with network security platforms (Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco, Juniper) and monitoring tools.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent communication abilities.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced, cloud-first environments.
• AWS Certified Advanced Networking – Specialty or Azure Network Engineer Associate certifications preferred.
