Data Engineer, Team Lead – Contract

3 month contract – outside IR35

This role will sit within a global data team for a large brand, and will service multiple high priority projects across a portfolio, with data at the heart of it.

You'll bring significant long-term experience in data engineering and project team leadership. You will need experience working across operational relational databases and analytics data platforms.

They require an experienced individual comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. You will have the opportunity to adapt your approach as project demands and opportunities vary.

Key Responsibilities:

• Leading a small project team of 3-4 data engineers, supporting with daily activities, code reviews, driving standards and best practices
• Contribute to delivering scalable data pipelines (SQL, Snowflake, dbt) to both the internal data team and other teams across the business
• Provide strong team leadership and comfortable with hands on data engineering responsibilities, in addition (ETL, modelling, pipeline optimisation)
• Demonstrate very strong understanding of performance tuning in both Microsoft SQL Server and Snowflake
• Work closely with business teams to understand their needs and manage relationships

Candidates must:

• Be commutable to Manchester, happy with regular onsite team meetings
• Be available within 1-2 weeks' notice
• Valid UK right to work
