Digital Workplace Manager/ Platform Manager

Location: Greater Bristol Area

Duration: Initial 3-6 months

Rate: Competitive (Outside IR35 TBC)


Overview

We are seeking an experienced Digital Workplace Manager to take ownership of a global Microsoft endpoint platform within a large, complex, multi-national organisation.

This is an urgent contract requirement to provide immediate leadership and stability across the Digital Workplace function during a critical period of transformation. The role will lead the delivery of a global Windows 11 migration across a 10,000-device estate, while managing platform risk and addressing legacy technical debt.


The successful candidate must be highly hands-on, technically strong in Intune, and able to operate confidently within a complex, multi-domain global environment.

Application discovery is underway. Testing is commencing shortly, with staged Windows 11 deployments planned imminently. Immediate technical leadership is required to ensure successful execution and risk mitigation.


Key Responsibilities

Platform Ownership & Stabilisation

  • Take ownership of the Microsoft Intune platform and associated endpoint services.
  • Assess current configuration, risk exposure, and technical debt.
  • Implement stabilisation measures where required.


Windows 11 Migration Delivery

  • Lead and coordinate the global Windows 11 rollout (10,000 plus devices).
  • Oversee application readiness, testing, and deployment governance.
  • Ensure programme milestones are delivered without operational disruption.


Technical Leadership

  • Provide direction to a small internal team and collaborate with wider global IT teams.
  • Manage and influence service providers supporting endpoint services.
  • Act as the senior escalation point for complex endpoint issues.


Governance & Risk

  • Ensure compliance, patch governance, and security baselines are maintained.
  • Work closely with Security and Infrastructure teams to align device and identity controls.
  • Provide clear reporting to senior stakeholders.


Required Experience

  • Proven experience leading Digital Workplace / EUC platforms in enterprise environments (8k+ devices).
  • Strong, demonstrable expertise in Microsoft Intune.
  • Experience delivering large-scale Windows 10/11 migrations.
  • Experience operating within complex, multi-domain estates.
  • Strong understanding of endpoint security and compliance governance.
  • Experience working within global, distributed organisations.
