AI Architect - UK Remote - 6 month Contract

Inside/Outside IR35 – subject to determination



Role Overview

Bigspark is seeking an experienced AI Architect to design and govern the delivery of enterprise-scale AI solutions for a major UK client. The role will focus on AI platforms and architectures supporting legal and compliance technology programmes, with exposure to regulated data environments, model governance, and responsible AI practices. The successful candidate will combine deep technical architecture expertise with strong stakeholder engagement, ensuring AI solutions are scalable, secure, explainable, and compliant with regulatory standards. Experience supporting HR technology or people analytics platforms is highly desirable


Key Responsibilities

  • Define and own end-to-end AI architecture across data ingestion, model development, deployment, and monitoring
  • Design AI solutions aligned to legal, compliance, and risk technology use cases
  • Establish architectural standards for:
  • Model lifecycle management
  • Data pipelines and feature stores
  • MLOps, CI/CD, and monitoring
  • Collaborate with legal, compliance, data science, engineering, and platform teams to translate business requirements into technical designs
  • Provide architectural governance, design authority, and assurance across multiple delivery teams
  • Evaluate and recommend AI tooling, platforms, and cloud services
  • Support delivery teams through design reviews, technical decision-making, and issue resolution
  • Produce clear architecture artefacts (logical, physical, and solution designs) for senior technical and non-technical stakeholders


Required Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience as an AI Architect, Solution Architect, or ML Architect delivering enterprise AI solutions
  • Strong hands-on knowledge of:
  • Machine learning and AI systems
  • Data engineering and analytics platforms
  • Cloud-native architectures (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
  • Strong understanding of Model governance and lifecycle management
  • Data privacy, security, and access controls
  • Explainable AI and responsible AI principles
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage senior technical and business stakeholders
  • Exposure to HR technology or people analytics architectures
