The Electronics & Embedded Systems (EES) business unit has world class experts in the provision of real-time embedded systems, specialising in safety critical control systems. To continue to grow the business we are now looking for an experienced Software Engineer (C++) to join our growing team.
 

We are a key supplier to a number of the largest defence suppliers in the UK. Opportunities are on both Permanent and Contractor (Insider & Outside IR35) working basis, typically with 3 days onsite in Stevenage, though you must be prepared for travel to client location.

 
Responsibilities:
  • EE requirements content, and experienced in handling embedded software or firmware requirements
  • Experience in development complex systems design requirements, particularly for implementation in software.
  • Manage system requirements, verification and compliance evolution against a rapid system baseline release schedule.
  • Be able to generate detailed requirement sets on the basis of a variety of drivers and manage change over baselines.
  • Support system requirement flow-down through to design and implementation teams.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
Essential skills:
  • Solid understanding of software development principles, object-oriented design, and design patterns.
  • Familiarity with the software development lifecycle and agile methodologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze and debug complex software systems.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
Experience:
  • Experience working in the UK Defence industry or with defence-related projects.
  • Familiarity with additional programming languages and tools relevant to defence software development.
  • Knowledge of software testing methodologies and tools, including unit testing and automated testing frameworks.
  • Understanding of cybersecurity principles and secure coding practices.
  • Experience with UML design and the ability to create clear and concise software models and diagrams.
  • Proven experience working as a Software Engineer C++, developing software solutions for complex projects.
  • Proven experience working as a Software Systems Engineer, developing software solutions for complex projects.

  • Eligibility and willingness to obtain SC Clearance (Security Check Clearance) is essential.
