Job SummaryWe’re looking for a skilled contract Python developer to support ongoing delivery across a mix of client and internal projects. You’ll be building, extending, and maintaining APIs and complex backend services in a delivery-driven environment. You’ll be working closely with a small technical team, so clear communication and ownership are crucial.

The initial contract is 3 months, with a possibility of extension depending on workload.

Outside IR35 only.

Duties:

• Building and maintaining backend services using Python
• Developing APIs with FastAPI and Django
• Working with Azure (App Services, Functions, storage, deployments, etc.)
• Integrating with third-party APIs and internal systems
• Writing clean, maintainable, well-tested code
• Collaborating directly with stakeholders

Essential Experience:

• Strong understanding of Python and Python ecosystem.
• Building and integrating secure RESTful APIs.
• Cloud services such as AWS and Azure Function Apps.
• Strong understanding of Docker.
• Version control systems including Git and CI/CD pipelines in Atlassian.
• Solid understanding of database management systems such as MySQL, PostgreSQL and SQL Server.
• Knowledge of MS Teams and Agile working.
• Contracting mindset: pragmatic, reliable, delivery-focused.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to communicate with diverse team.

Nice to have:

• Experience working with Linux environments is desirable but Mac & Windows will also be used.
• A degree in Computer Science is not essential if you have relevant, hands-on experience.
