Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Configuration Manager to support a major ITSM maturity programme within an enterprise IT environment. The focus of this assignment is to structure, improve, and enhance the reliability of the CMDB and ensure strong alignment with ITSM processes, particularly Configuration Management and Change Management.

This role will play a key part in strengthening IT operational governance and improving impact analysis capabilities across applications, infrastructure, and technical services.

Key Responsibilities:

• Own and drive improvements in CMDB structure, data quality, and governance
• Define and implement best practices across Configuration Management processes
• Ensure CMDB data supports accurate impact analysis within the Change Management process
• Work closely with Infrastructure and Operations teams to improve data integrity and CI relationships
• Align CMDB practices with broader ITSM process improvements
• Identify gaps in configuration data and implement remediation strategies
• Contribute to process documentation, operating models, and standards
• Support integration between CMDB and related ITSM tools/processes
• Provide guidance on how CMDB data can be leveraged to improve operational decision-making

Required Experience:

• Strong hands-on experience managing and improving an enterprise CMDB
• Proven background in ITIL Configuration Management
• Experience contributing to Change Management, particularly impact assessment
• Experience working with applications, infrastructure, and technical service CIs
• Ability to operate within a structured ITSM transformation or improvement programme
• Experience working closely with Infrastructure & Operations teams
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills in enterprise environments

Desirable:

• ITIL certification
• Experience in ITSM toolsets with CMDB capability (eg, ServiceNow, BMC, etc.)
• Experience in large-scale ITSM process maturity programmes
