Senior Quality Engineer - London (remote working 4 days a week) - 12 month contract (outside IR35)

We are looking for a Senior Quality Engineer with strong testing and data validation skills to support a Legacy Oracle E-business Suite environment. They will verify data correctness and test integrations to downstream systems, while validating end-to-end business processes.

Essential

• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and practices, participating in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospective meetings to ensure alignment with project goals and timelines and advocating for quality activities in an Agile context
• Overseeing testing across multiple teams and throughout the entire software development life cycle, demonstrating both technical and test leadership.
• Ability to communicate clearly.
• Practical experience of designing and implementing various test types to deliver comprehensive test coverage at the appropriate layer.
• Familiarity with database testing techniques, creating SQL queries and using database validation tools for comprehensive testing of data integrity and consistency.
• Skilled in testing end-to-end business processes and integrations, with experience validating data flows across Legacy/ERP systems (eg, Oracle E-business Suite) and downstream services.
• Design, build, and maintain automated test frameworks for UI and API testing using tools such as Postman, Playwright, Pytest and/or a BDD/specification-driven approach using Behave (or similar Python BDD frameworks).
• Applied automation and testing best practices, improving test automation frameworks and delivery pipelines.
• A collaborative mindset, mentoring, coaching, growing and inspiring others to adopt holistic testing practices.
• Practical experience with non-functional testing (Performance, Security, Accessibility) and related tooling.
• Strong understanding of shift-left principles, including CI/CD pipelines and working with others to integrate tests in to CI/CD pipelines using CircleCI, GitHub Actions to manage test jobs
• Collaborate with others to define success criteria and quality metrics to measure and demonstrate progress.
• Knowledge of scaling test frameworks using Kubernetes with some experience of using Helm charts.
• Proficient in version control systems like Git for managing test scripts, collaborating with cross-functional teams effectively, and engaging in PR reviews.
• Continuous learning mindset, staying updated with emerging technologies, tools, and best practices in software testing to enhance effectiveness and efficiency.
• Play an active role in the engineering community and culture by getting involved with the various community meetups and informal support networks.

Desirable

• Some knowledge of Postman for API testing, ensuring the reliability and functionality of Back End services.
• Some technical knowledge on setting up monitoring dashboards using tools like Sentry, graffana, kibana or Prometheus. Or working knowledge of monitoring tools.
