Senior .NET Engineer | Contract | Outside IR35 | Up to £500 per day | Remote | 3 months (possibility of extension)

Our client, a leading FinTech innovator, is expanding their engineering capability as they continue to scale a high-volume payments platform used across multiple industries. With nearly a decade of success and a strong customer base, they are entering a critical growth phase with a busy delivery roadmap.

This is an Outside IR35 contract, offering fully remote working and the opportunity to make an immediate impact in a fast-moving scale-up environment.

The Role

As a Senior .NET Contractor, you’ll take ownership of delivering high-performance, cloud-native solutions, working closely with engineers, product stakeholders, and leadership. This role suits an experienced contractor who enjoys autonomy, technical influence, and shipping meaningful work.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with stakeholders to challenge requirements and improve solution design
• Design and deliver scalable, reliable, and high-performance systems
• End-to-end development of FinTech/payment platform features
• Drive best practices across architecture, code quality, and testing
• Analyse and optimise application performance
• Document technical decisions and system behaviour
• Troubleshoot issues and support platform stability when required

Technical Skills Required

• Strong commercial experience with C# and .NET Core / .NET (current stack .NET 8)
• Azure cloud experience (cloud-native services)
• Microservices architecture
• Strong API design, development, and integration experience
• Terraform or similar Infrastructure as Code tooling
• Solid unit testing and engineering quality standards

Contract Details

• Rate: Up to £500 per day (Outside IR35)
• Contract length: Initial 3 months (possibility of extension)
• Location: Remote (UK-based contractors, they meet up once a quarter in London)
• Start: ASAP / short notice preferred
