Contract Data Engineer - Matillion/Snowflake
UK (Remote)
Up to £500 per day | Outside IR35
3-month contract
We're seeking a hands-on Contract Data Engineer to support and maintain Matillion-Snowflake data pipelines, ensuring business-critical data continues to flow reliably during a wider platform upgrade.
This is a delivery-focused role, ideal for someone who can hit the ground running and take ownership of BAU data engineering work with minimal ramp-up.
What you'll be doing:
- Building, maintaining, and enhancing Matillion ETL/ELT pipelines
- Developing and optimising Snowflake tables, views, and transformations
- Tuning performance and warehouse usage for efficiency and cost control
- Owning day-to-day pipeline reliability, fixes, and small enhancements
- Monitoring data quality and resolving pipeline failures
- Collaborating closely with the existing Data Engineering team
- Keeping documentation up to date and ensuring a clean handover
What we're looking for:
- Strong hands-on experience with Matillion and Snowflake
- Solid data modelling and performance optimisation skills
- Comfortable owning BAU workloads and operational support
- Able to work independently while fitting into established standards
