A Defence-aligned organisation requires an experienced Senior Security Assurance Consultant to provide strategic oversight and delivery leadership across complex, security-critical programmes.
Operating within a highly classified environment, the consultant will define and embed a coherent security assurance approach that aligns Defence policy, Secure by Design principles, and programme delivery objectives. The role will act as a trusted authority on security risk, accreditation, and assurance governance, supporting informed decision-making at senior levels.
The consultant will work across multiple delivery teams to coordinate assurance activity, manage security risk, and maintain the documentation and evidence required to achieve and sustain system approval. Engagement with accrediting authorities, system owners, and programme leadership will be central to ensuring assurance activity is proportionate, timely, and aligned to operational outcomes.
This role requires an individual capable of operating autonomously in a consultancy capacity, with the credibility to influence senior stakeholders and the practical experience to translate policy into executable assurance outcomes.
Key requirements include:
Extensive experience delivering security assurance within Defence environments
Strong understanding of Defence security policy and assurance frameworks
Proven capability supporting accreditation and security risk management
Active DV or SC clearance
Recognised security or information assurance qualification, or equivalent experience
