Cloud Engineer/Migration Lead - Outside IR35 at Lorien, Edinburgh, 3 Months, £Contract Rate

Location: Edinburgh or Glasgow
Contract: Outside IR35
Duration: Until end of March 2026 (initially)

We are seeking an experienced Cloud Migration Lead to drive a major migration project and ensure best practice approaches, processes, and solutions are implemented to meet both operational and strategic objectives. This role is pivotal in enabling the organisation to become intelligence-led and achieve its long-term goals.

• Provide technical leadership and establish best practice in application architecture.
• Lead the migration of a large production application to AWS.
• Maintain and develop comprehensive documentation of current and target cloud architecture.
• Stay current with emerging technologies, evaluating and recommending tools aligned with strategic objectives.
• Manage risks and decisions transparently.
• Engage credibly with stakeholders, business partners, and development teams to guide IT strategies.
• Deliver secure, scalable, resilient, and cost-effective cloud solutions aligned with well-architected frameworks.
• Ensure compliance with GDPR, Information Governance, and cyber-security regulations.
• Develop and implement standards and best practices for cloud architecture.

• Proven leadership in delivering corporate programmes and cloud migrations.
• Extensive experience with AWS cloud architecture and migration.
• Strong track record in designing secure, performant, and scalable solutions.
• Expertise in working with multi-disciplinary teams and stakeholders.
• Familiarity with industry best practices and regulatory compliance.
