Lead high-impact analytics across a fast-moving global trading floor.

A world-class energy and commodities trading organisation is seeking a Front Office Analytics Development Lead to own the build, evolution and support of analytics and market-data tooling across Oil, Gas, Power, Agriculture and Metals markets.

This is a hands-on leadership position that places you shoulder-to-shoulder with traders, analysts and quants—shaping the analytical insights that drive commercial decision-making in real time.

You’ll operate at the heart of the trading floor, combining technical depth with commercial awareness:

  • Work directly with traders and analysts to understand requirements, diagnose issues and deliver rapid, high-quality solutions.
  • Lead weekly stand-ups and ensure clear communication and alignment across trading desks and technology teams.
  • Build and enhance Python- and SQL-driven analytics, pricing tools and market-data applications.
  • Develop cloud-hosted models, analytics services and dashboards (Tableau/BI), as well as lightweight UIs (e.g., React apps).
  • Collaborate with technology teams to evolve pricing, risk and fundamental analytics platforms.
  • Oversee market and fundamental data releases, ensuring accuracy, reliability and timeliness.
  • Engage with external vendors to evaluate and integrate new data sources.
  • Proven experience leading front-office analytics or development within a commodities or trading environment.
  • Strong grounding in commodities fundamentals (Oil - 100% requirement, Ags, Energy Markets, Metals).
  • Deep proficiency in Python (C# expertise can also be acceptable as long as you have some Python and a willingness to develop your Python proficiency) and SQL for building analytics and data tooling.
  • Understanding of market data, curves, settlements and pricing workflows.
  • Excellent communication skills with the confidence to work directly with traders, quants and senior stakeholders.
  • A practical, delivery-focused mindset—comfortable owning problems end-to-end.
