Kubernetes/Containers Solution Architect - 12-Month Contract (Outside IR35) - Remote

We are seeking a Kubernetes/Containers Solution Architect to support the delivery, automation, and lifecycle management of large-scale Kubernetes platforms across hybrid and bare-metal environments. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with RKE2, Rancher, GitOps workflows, CAPI/Metal3, and integration with OSS/BSS systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build, configure, and deliver Kubernetes clusters using RKE2, Rancher, and GitOps methodologies (Flux/ArgoCD).
• Implement Cluster API (CAPI) and Metal3 to automate provisioning and management of bare-metal environments.
• Contribute to full cluster lifecycle automation, including node management, upgrades, patching, and air-gapped deployments.
• Support future migration and integration efforts using the OpenStack CAPI provider for virtualised cluster deployments.
• Integrate Kubernetes platforms with OSS/BSS tooling, APIs, and observability systems.
• Ensure Kubernetes clusters meet TSA and CIS hardening requirements.

What You Will Ideally Bring:

• Strong hands-on Kubernetes engineering experience (RKE2 preferred) and proven Rancher administration capability.
• Practical experience with GitOps tooling (FluxCD and/or ArgoCD).
• Demonstrable expertise implementing CAPI and Metal3 in production or lab environments.
• Understanding of OSS/BSS systems within telecom or large-scale service provider environments.
• Experience with observability tooling (Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, Tempo, OpenTelemetry).
• Background in security hardening and compliance (CIS benchmarks, TSA).

• Duration: 12 Month Contract
• Day Rate: £550 per day (Outside IR35)
• Location: Remote, ADHOC Travel to Client Sites
