Infrastructure Manager SC Cleared Outside IR35 at Sanderson Government and Defence, UK, £Contract Rate

Position: Infrastructure Manager
Location: Predominantly remote
Day Rate: £500 - £550 outside IR35
Active SC Clearance Required

We're seeking a highly skilled Infrastructure Manager to oversee the security, resilience, and operational integrity of Critical National Infrastructure (CNI) systems. This contract role combines deep technical expertise with strategic leadership, ensuring robust infrastructure operations, governance, and continual improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain and patch SPOP & SSN infrastructure to the highest compliance standards.
• Oversee firewall rule management, monitoring, and vulnerability controls.
• Lead IAM governance, including RBAC, access reviews, and lifecycle management.
• Manage service catalogue, risk/issue resolution, and root cause analysis.
• Drive governance, RACI ownership, and performance oversight.
• Develop disaster recovery and resilience strategies with regular testing.
• Deliver clear metrics, dashboards, and executive reporting.
• Act as escalation lead and support recruitment of the permanent team.

Essential Skills:

• Strong DevOps background (CI/CD, automation, scripting: PowerShell, Python, Terraform, Ansible, IaC).
• Proven infrastructure operations expertise (IT, networking, patching, monitoring, risk/issue management).
• Advanced security knowledge (IAM, firewall, vulnerability management).
• Capacity planning and resource management.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
