Data Product Manager - Outside of IR35 at Stealth IT Consulting, Remote, 6 Months, £Contract Rate

Contract Description

We are looking for a Data Product Manager on a 6 months contract.

Key Responsibilities Product Ownership & Strategy

  • Define and communicate the vision, strategy, and roadmap for data products.

  • Translate business goals into clear, actionable product requirements.

  • Prioritise features using value-based frameworks (eg, MoSCoW, RICE, WSJF).

  • Own the product backlog and ensure continuous refinement.

Delivery & Lifecycle Management

  • Manage end-to-end delivery of the data product lifecycle from discovery and design to deployment and optimisation.

  • Work with Data Engineers, Analysts, and Data Scientists to develop and iterate data products.

  • Ensure products meet agreed KPIs and deliver measurable value.

  • Use agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban) to drive efficient delivery.

Stakeholder Management

  • Collaborate with business units to understand requirements, pain points, and opportunities.

  • Present product updates, roadmaps, and insights to senior stakeholders.

  • Act as the main point of contact for the product across the organisation.

Data Governance & Quality

  • Ensure data products adhere to governance, security, and compliance standards.

  • Ensure robust data quality, documentation, and transparency for users.

  • Work with governance teams to implement policies such as metadata standards, access controls, and lineage.

User Experience & Adoption

  • Conduct user research, interviews, and feedback sessions to shape product design.

  • Drive user adoption through onboarding, documentation, and training.

  • Continuously improve data product usability and performance.

Required Skills & Experience Core Experience

  • Proven experience as a Data Product Manager, Product Owner, or similar role.

  • Strong understanding of modern data platforms, data warehousing, and analytics environments.

  • Experience working with Data Engineering, BI teams, or Data Science teams.

  • Solid understanding of data architecture concepts (eg, pipelines, ETL/ELT, APIs, data models).

Technical & Domain Skills

  • Familiarity with tools such as AWS/GCP/Azure, Databricks, Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, or similar.

  • Understanding of data governance, privacy standards, and regulatory requirements.

  • Ability to write clear user stories and acceptance criteria for technical teams.

  • Strong analytical mindset and ability to interpret complex data concepts.

Soft Skills

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on delivery.

  • Strong organisational and prioritisation abilities.

  • Comfortable working in agile, fast-paced environments.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience working in Government, Financial Services, Healthcare, or enterprise environments.

  • Experience with user-centred design, discovery phases, or GDS frameworks (if public sector).

  • Familiarity with machine learning product lifecycle or MLOps concepts.

  • Product certification (Scrum, SAFe, APM, CSPO, etc.).
