Role:  Business Analyst – GIS Transformation

Location & Travel  : Newbury, UK (Visit required to VF office on frequent basis)

Employment Type: Contract Outside of IR35

Duration:  6 Months

Candidate Should be able to start immediately 

Clearance: Should be SC cleared or Eligible

Role Overview

This role will define, validate, and communicate business requirements related to GIS system transformation and data migration. You will act as the bridge between business stakeholders, GIS architects, and development teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Gather and document business and functional requirements for GIS-related migrations and system integrations.
  • Collaborate with GIS architects to map legacy Smallworld models to target Esri-based implementations.
  • Support data profiling, cleansing, and transformation planning.
  • Facilitate workshops and walkthroughs with operations, planning, and network engineering teams.
  • Create process models, use cases, and testable acceptance criteria.
  • Support change management and end-user training as needed.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Understanding of GIS systems, particularly Smallworld and Esri.
  • Prior experience working on system migrations or transformations in a telco or utility context.
  • Strong documentation and communication skills.
  • Experience working with Agile tools (JIRA, Confluence).
  • Familiarity with data mapping and spatial data validation processes.
