Job Description
We are seeking a Java Technical Lead to join a large-scale legacy platform modernisation project. This is a contract opportunity ideal for a hands-on leader with deep Java expertise and a passion for clean, scalable engineering.

You will lead a feature team responsible for the conversion and migration of legacy applications, working closely with stakeholders to design and deliver robust, cloud-based solutions. This role combines strong technical leadership with practical software engineering and a sharp focus on quality and performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end migration of legacy application repositories.
• Design and implement scalable, high-performance solutions using Java and Spring Boot.
• Define and execute modernisation strategies aligned with business needs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and mentor junior developers.
• Troubleshoot technical challenges and ensure timely, quality delivery.
• Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Java Developer or Technical Lead.
• Expertise in Java, Spring Boot, and low-latency systems.
• Strong background in data migration, ETL processes, and modern software architecture.
• Proficiency in Azure cloud services.
• Knowledge of Agile methodologies and best practices.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Degree in Computer Science or related field preferred.
• Exposure to modernisation at scale and cloud-native technologies.
