Lead Insight Analyst – Contract

Sports & Entertainment Client

London - Hybrid

£500-£600 per day - outside IR35


We’re working with a leading data-driven agency operating at the intersection of sport, media, and fan engagement. Known for partnering with major names in the industry – from top-tier football clubs to global sporting bodies – they’re on the lookout for a seasoned Lead Insight Analyst to take the reins across multiple high-profile projects.


This is a strategic and hands-on role ideal for someone who thrives in varied, fast-paced environments. You'll be embedded across three flagship accounts, helping clients better understand and activate their data through robust insight, infrastructure, and stakeholder engagement.


Key Projects:


  • Global Football Organisation: Lead the digital engagement reporting strategy across international tournaments Ensure clean data flow from pipelines to dashboards, mainly in Power BI
  • Premier League Club: Guide the CRM system implementation. Collaborate with vendors to design and define how data should be structured and ingested
  • Top-Tier Football Club: Deliver insights around personalised digital content, algorithm testing, and content recommendations, working primarily with BigQuery and Power BI


Role & Responsibilities:


  • Act as the key strategic and analytical lead across all three accounts
  • Work closely with client stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and reporting needs
  • Lead a small team of analysts and data scientists to deliver insights and reporting
  • Translate complex data sets into actionable insights for senior leadership and board-level reporting
  • Partner with internal strategy and insight managers to align on deliverables


Skills & Experience:


  • Proven experience in client-facing, stakeholder-heavy environments
  • A wide-ranging analytics toolkit – essential tools include: Google Cloud, BigQuery, Power BI, Python, Looker, Tableau, Salesforce (a plus), GA4 (nice to have)
  • Background in customer analytics; experience in sports, media or retail sectors highly desirable
  • Comfortable managing both hands-on delivery and strategic oversight (approx. 50/50 split)
