Position: Senior PHP Engineer (Outside IR35)

Contract: LTD Contract

Montash is partnering with a forward-thinking high profile software company to help scale their Back End engineering team. We're looking for a Senior PHP Engineer to support the evolution of their complex secure cloud platform. This is a long-term freelance opportunity with an initial 6-month contract and high potential for extension.

Tech Environment

• PHP (primary language)
• Symfony (framework) - MUST HAVE
• Doctrine (ORM)
• PHPUnit (unit + functional testing) - MUST HAVE
• GitLab CI for CI/CD pipelines
• Docker for containerization
• Grafana & Loki for monitoring
• Bonus: Experience with Rust or NodeJS

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain high-performance, secure Back End systems
• Take full ownership of complex features from design to deployment
• Enhance test coverage with a focus on unit testing best practices
• Refactor Legacy codebases using Domain-Driven Design (DDD) principles
• Build internal tooling to improve developer experience and incident resolution
• Champion clean, well-documented, and maintainable code through thorough code reviews
• Ensure feature completeness with proper flags, logging, and monitoring
