Location: Remote with occasional travel to Devon

Contract Length: Initial 8 weeks (potential extension)

Start Date: ASAP

Rate: DOE (Outside IR35)


IT Business Analyst Role:

A leading IT consultancy in the South West is seeking an experienced IT Business Analyst with waste management expertise to support a local council’s crucial waste management programme. This is a vital role helping to improve essential public services, ensuring the smooth delivery of waste collection and fleet management systems across the borough.


IT Business Analyst Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define system requirements and project timelines, with a focus on waste management services.
  • Develop detailed, fully costed business cases for IT workstreams supporting waste management initiatives.
  • Support IT system migrations, integrations, and transformations to improve waste collection and fleet operations.
  • Conduct business process mapping and re-engineering to streamline council services.
  • Engage with stakeholders across all levels, ensuring alignment with local authority objectives.
  • Assess IT infrastructure needs and provide accurate cost estimates for software implementation and migration.


IT Business Analyst Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience as an IT Business Analyst in local government or complex organisations, ideally with waste management services experience.
  • Strong understanding of IT systems for waste collection, fleet management, HR, and finance within a council environment.
  • Expertise in data migration strategies, system integration, and SaaS solutions.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Teams.
  • Familiarity with PRINCE2 and Agile methodologies.
  • Willingness to travel within the local authority area if required.
