Job Type: Contract (Outside of IR35)
Duration: 6 Months extendable
Work Location: Brentwood, UK.
Job Description:
- Subject Matter Expert in SIP protocol and has an understanding of IMS infrastructure.
- Has expertise to analyse call-flows and point out protocol issues.
- Knowledge in VoIP and IMS domain.
- Has a proactive attitude for testing and having the expertise to suggest amendments to the test plan as and when required.
- Has a good understanding of TCP-IP protocol stack.
- Good understanding of RTP, RTCP, RTP Events, DTMF and SDP.
- Ability to use Wireshark as an analysis tool to debug VOIP traces. (SIP & RTP)
- Networking fundamentals: understanding DHCPv4 and v6, DNS look ups (NAPTR/SRV/AAAA/A records). How analyses them on Wireshark.
- Networking fundamental: understanding how IPV6 works and the difference between IPV4 and IPv6. How to search and identify the IP layer information using wireshark trace.
- SIP: understanding the RTP Attributes. Identifying codecs, DTMF, SRTP etc.
- SIP: analysing RTP traffic in Wireshark. How do you check is there is one way audio or the correct codec is used in the RTP streams.
- SIP: how to filter for a specific call.
- SIP: identifying the agreed IP and Ports for signaling and media.
- Networking: understanding QoS for Voice and how it works. How to check is COS and ToS is applied using Wireshark.
Added Advantage/Desirable skills:
- Has a good understanding of how an FXS port works and the FSK protocol.
- Has a good knowledge of the TR-69/ 104 specification.
- Experience in SBC.
- Knowledge in NAT, DNS, B2B UA, Load Balancing/Resilience Testing.
