IFRS17 Solution Architect (outside IR35 until April)

6 -12 month contract

The Role:

The role will require the ability to articulate, document and agree the updates required to the existing Finance Architecture to ensure compliance with the IFRS17 standard. It will require an excellent understanding of both system architecture and finance and actuarial processes.

We're looking for someone with excellent interpersonal skills who has the ability to prioritise. You will need to have a pragmatic approach to problem solving and be able to communicate the outcomes to a wide audience.

As the IFRS17 Solution Architect you will work within the Design workstream and report directly to the Integrated Design Delivery Lead and the Workstream Lead. .

What you'll be doing as the IFRS17 Solution Architect:

• Baseline requirements to ensure the completeness of design
• Capture, review and confirm stakeholder requirements to update or produce design deliverables
• Perform analysis to develop solutions to key design decisions and ensure stakeholders understand the impacts of those decisions on the outcomes
• Support the delivery workstreams in their solution design development
• Ensure key stakeholders, internally and externally, are aware of what is required and when
• Provide regular status updates

Hiscox is a global specialist insurer underwriting a range of commercial and personal risks. Hiscox has grown from a single underwriter based at Lloyd's into a FTSE 250 company with 31 offices across 14 countries and customers around the world, with its headquarters in Bermuda.

We recently completed a multi-year transformation of our finance function in order to meet our growth ambitions. This architecture now requires update to ensure regulatory compliance with the IFRS17 standard.

The programme is mobilising with a view to baseline requirements in Q1 2021 and complete global design by the end of Q2 2021.

Our must-haves:

• Experience of Finance and Actuarial processes and architecture
• Awareness of Finance Systems solutions such as Oracle ERP, FCCS and FP&A
• Qualified accountant with up to date knowledge of IFRS17 standard
• Proven experience of working in financial services, with a preference for general insurance
• Business facing solution architect with extensive experience managing challenging stakeholders
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast paced environment
• Strong understanding of business processes and organisational structures
• Worked in large scale financial transformation programmes or regulatory compliance programmes
• Formal Solution Architecture qualifications would be beneficial
