Senior React Engineer (Contract)

Location: Remote

Contract Length: 3-month rolling (potential for 6 months)

Rate: £350-£400 per day (Outside IR35)

Clearance: BPSS

Project Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Senior React Engineer to join a high-profile digital transformation project within the public sector. The project involves developing a modern digital account experience to streamline services, improve accessibility, and simplify customer interactions. You’ll work as part of multidisciplinary Scrum teams, collaborating closely with product, service design, and user-centred design specialists.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop high-quality, scalable React code and build reusable components.

• Translate designs and wireframes into functional user interfaces.

• Optimize front-end performance and ensure compliance with accessibility standards.

• Test, debug, and maintain stable, performant applications.

• Support and mentor team members by sharing best practices and creating documentation.

Tech Requirements:

• Proficiency in React (v16/17) and JavaScript.

• Experience building Single Page Applications (SPA) and integrating with APIs.

• Strong knowledge of front-end accessibility standards.

• Familiarity with government digital guidelines (desirable but not essential)
