Role Overview
A leading public sector organization seeks a skilled
CIS System Administrator to support and enhance critical CIS systems. This role involves working in a fast-paced, agile team environment, with potential travel to international locations and onboard vessels. The position requires strong technical expertise and the physical ability to manage equipment up to 25kg.
Key Responsibilities- Upgrade virtual infrastructure using VMware VCSA on mobile platforms.
- Develop and refine Standard Operating Practices (SOPs) for hardware upgrades.
- Provide remote support for maritime systems and configure remote UPS management.
- Apply software and firmware updates and conduct hardware diagnostics.
- Monitor system logs, configure automated backups, and ensure data integrity.
- Support cybersecurity investigations and maintain configuration management compliance.
- Evaluate failed CIS assets for disposal, manage disaster recovery operations, and respond to user issues promptly (written response within 30 minutes).
- Collaborate in sprint-planning meetings to define weekly objectives.
Required Qualifications and Experience- Security Clearance: Valid national security clearance at NATO SECRET level.
- Educational Background:
- Higher vocational training with 3 years of relevant experience, OR
- Secondary education with 5 years of relevant experience.
- Technical Expertise:
- VMware Virtualisation, SAN technology, and Windows Workstation imaging.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Server Technologies, Active Directory, and Exchange.
- Familiarity with ITIL IT service management, incident, and problem management processes.
- Strong technical documentation and user guide development skills.
- Personal Skills:
- Strong customer focus with excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and handle stressful situations with professionalism and empathy.
