Job Description: Business Analyst - EDI Messaging
Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Business Analyst with experience in EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) messaging to join a reputable London Market insurance organisation
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of EDI standards and processes, coupled with expertise in analysing business requirements and translating them into technical solutions. This role bridges the gap between business needs and technical teams, ensuring smooth implementation of EDI solutions across the organization.
Contract: £550pd-£600pd Outside IR35
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business requirements related to EDI processes.
- Translate business needs into functional and technical specifications.
- Work with development teams to design, test, and deploy EDI transactions (e.g., 837, 835, 270/271, 810, 850, 997).
- Act as the primary liaison between business units, IT teams, and external partners for EDI-related projects.
- Facilitate communication regarding EDI implementation schedules, testing phases, and go-live support.
- Analyze current EDI workflows to identify inefficiencies and recommend improvements.
- Develop and maintain documentation for EDI processes, workflows, and system integrations.
- Train team members and stakeholders on EDI processes and tools as needed.
Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in EDI transaction sets such as 837 (claims), 835 (remittance advice), 810 (invoices), and 850 (purchase orders).
- Experience with data mapping, testing, and validation processes.
Experience:
- 3+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, with a focus on EDI projects.
- Hands-on experience with EDI messaging standards such as ANSI X12, EDIFACT, or similar.
- Familiarity with EDI tools and platforms (e.g., Gentran, Sterling Integrator, Cleo, BizTalk).
