Job Description

We are urgently seeking a 1st Line IT Technician for an immediate start at our educational client's site in Swindon. This is a short-term contractor position, falling outside IR35, with a competitive day rate of £150 - £175. The successful candidate must hold a current enhanced DBS, ideally registered on the update service, due to the nature of the environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide first-line IT support to staff and students, ensuring prompt and efficient resolution of technical issues.
• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network-related problems.
• Assist in the setup, configuration, and maintenance of IT equipment.
• Ensure all IT support requests are logged, managed, and resolved within agreed service levels.
• Work closely with other IT team members to escalate and resolve more complex issues as needed.

Requirements

• Proven experience in a 1st Line IT Technician role, preferably within an educational setting.
• Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems, MS Office Suite, and basic networking principles.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with both technical and non-technical users.
• Must hold an enhanced DBS certificate (ideally on the update service).
• Ability to work onsite in Swindon and start immediately.
