Contract Description

Provide vital 1st line support to the University during exam season - you will use your 1st line skills to take phone calls and answer emails from students who are using a new invigilation software to take their assessments.

The client is a renowned UK university, based in Birmingham, which can trace its origins back to the 1800 's. It has been a leader in specialist education since the 20th century, and provides services to over 10,000 students.

Description

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • 1st line support over the phone, and over email
  • Provide effective and speedy troubleshooting assistance, during a time of great anticipation for students
  • Attend system specific training prior to the 1st exam starting
  • Provide support and insight into problems encountered throughout the process, and how you overcame them
  • Elements of 2nd line support may be required at times - preparing laptops to be sent out to students who are unable to access the software at home
  • You will be required to attend the University on site all day for this position

Profile

The successful candidate will be a proactive individual with proven experience in IT support. You will clearly show the ability to think through issues when they are encountered, and show the initiative to document your resolution, so that others can benefit. Additionally, you will have a calm demeanour and will be able to work effectively under pressure, and with potentially distressed end-users.
