Due to the growing team we are now actively looking for an IT Project Manager to join the IT team in Liverpool or Manchester

Brief Job description
Role Summary
Primary responsible for the overall responsibility for the successful initiation, planning, design, execution, monitoring, controlling and closure of a project.
This role's facilitates programme / project scoping, then managing and delivering the solution. They should also ensure they control risk and minimise uncertainty.
The Project Manager is a member of the Project Management team, within the IT Service Delivery Team.
Candidate Profile

• Must have amazing analytical skills and not afraid to roll up their sleeves to do some of their own business analysis when needed.

The key accountabilities and responsibilities of the role are set out below. Given business needs and requirements do change over time, please note this list is not exhaustive and will be reviewed and updated periodically to reflect those changes.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
• Facilitate the definition of customer requirements in order to produce a detailed project scope, goals and deliverables;
• Develop and agree project delivery plans with the customer to achieve the required project success;
• Ensure projects are set-up and initiated consistent with project governance;
• Identify appropriate resources and assign responsibilities;
• Manage project tasks and resources to carry out the work and ensure quality of delivery;
• Liaise with the wider IT department in order to add value;
• Develop, agree and implement a communication and engagement plan for each project;
• Develop, agree and implement a change management plan for each project;
• Ensure project documents are current, completed, and appropriately stored to ensure robust project controls;
• Work closely with relevant stakeholders to ensure effective and efficient implementation of the projects;
• Support the project sponsors and owners in establishing a relevant and effective Project Board;
• Estimating costs, ROI and time requirements of projects;
• Manage and regularly update project budget(s);
• Track tasks and project deliverables using appropriate tools;
• Implement and manage project changes and interventions to achieve project deliverables;
• Recommend IT strategies, policies, and procedures by evaluating outcomes, identifying problems, evaluating trends and anticipating possible requirement changes;
• Coordinate checkpoint reviews to support project stage decisions;
• Monitor and report on project progress, issues and risks to all relevant stakeholders and the customer;
• Ensure Lessons Learnt and Case Studies are compiled and shared in a timely way.

Specific Duties
Communication
• Contribute and support communications from the IT Department;
• Ensure internal communication channels within the IT department are effective so as to engender a "one-team " culture within the department across the world.
Staff Development
In conjunction with the lead Project Manager:
• Motivates, empowers and trusts others to take responsibility;
• Provides staff with development opportunities and coaching to realise their full potential;
• Demonstrates role model standards of behaviour;
• Delegates work appropriately and fairly.
Staff Management
• No responsibility.
Operational Management
Through careful leadership and management:
• Encourage benchmarking, wider reading, analysis and the making of proactive recommendations, for the improvement of PM value within programmes and projects;
• Develop, manage, test and continually update the firm's business continuity plan of which the major part is IT;
• Where appropriate, regularly educate the wider IT department and its customers;
• Recognise abilities to work with others to get things done;
• Work outside of the project team with the broader IT department;
• Trouble-shoot and problem solve with the wider IT department to improve operational effectiveness.
Budgetary Control
• Responsible for managing, monitoring and updating all relevant project financials.
IT Strategy
• Help in the development and maintenance of a full business, firm-wide IT strategy via an inclusive and business driven approach;
• Help effectively communicate this strategy to customers and relevant suppliers / partners.
• Ensure PMs understand the alignment of project scope and objectives to the firm's strategic objectives.

Customer Care

Hours of work: 35 hours per week (Between 08.00 and 18.00hrs Mon-Friday). Flexibility in working hours is a requirement and you can expect that additional hours, evening and possibly weekend work may be required in order to meet deadlines and fulfil all the obligations of the role to the required level. Travel to all offices and come client sites will be required.
