The Opportunity:

Consulting as a Technical Architect you will be operating as part of a multi-disciplinary high performing Agile team to enhance a live government digital service to ensure that functionality aligns with purpose and vision. Able to bridge the gap between technical and non-technical, strategically minded and always looking to understand how their work aligns with industry trends and best practices in the interests of their clients and customers.

Skills and Experience:

• Have a broad range and depth of technical skills including a mix of Python 3.x, Django 2.x, Django REST framework, PostgreSQL, use of GitHub and knowledge of Government Digital Services (GDS) and/or the CDDO Technology Code of Practice
• Experience with Wagtail 2.11.x, Ruby 2.7 and Rails 6 is an advantage, as well as a good general appreciation/awareness of modern web application, cloud and Continuous Integration Technologies, such as AWS S3, React, Vanilla.js and Cloud Foundry.
• Experience of leading Pen testing of live systems is essential, as is good documentation experience as you will be expected to document findings and recommendations.
• Strong understanding of Architecture concepts and frameworks (e.g. TOGAF)

Role and Responsibilities:

This will be a rapid transition project, where you will be working with existing developers and technical architects to ensure handover of the live service. You will be required to ensure that the current architectural framework aligns with best standards and practices.

In addition, driving changes to architecture in accordance to the future requirements as the system evolves. Key to this will be the need improvements that increase resilience, future proof for technology use and follow architectural best practice.

The system will undergo regular pen-testing which you will be required to lead and document findings, ensuring fixes are ticketed and completed by a live services team. Support and management will be handled via Zendesk, which you will be working with your team to ensure that queries are prioritised and responded to within an agreed SLA.
